The temple wakes first
You will hear the conch from the terrace before the town has stirred, and long before you have found your slippers.

I built this house in Puri, and I open it to travellers and pilgrims. You arrive to white walls and quiet rooms. You leave having painted them with temple mornings, sea air, and whatever Puri gave you.
Five in the morning to eight at night
Nothing on this list is an attraction. It is simply how a day here tends to go, in the order it usually happens.

The kitchen is yours. Most of my guests make tea before they make plans. A few end up cooking dinner for everybody.

Grand Road is a short auto ride. Go early, leave your phone behind, and tell the caretaker when to expect you back.

The beach is close enough to visit on a whim. Come back, sit among my plants, and do nothing at all for an hour.
The rooms
Every room has a king bed, its own bathroom with hot water, air conditioning and a ceiling fan. Four of them sit on the ground floor and share the kitchen, the dining hall and the 50" television. The fifth has all of that to itself.
Four king rooms, all on the ground floor — no stairs, no climbing with luggage. Book one, or take all four if you are travelling together.
Two double beds, a kitchen of its own, its own 32" television, and a door onto my rooftop garden. Third floor, up the stairs — worth every step, if you can manage them.
About the rates
Depending on the season I usually give a discount — sometimes as much as half. I would rather you call and ask than close this page thinking you cannot afford a week in Puri. Tell me your dates and I will tell you honestly what I can do.
What's here
Tap any of these for the real answer, not the brochure one.
Where you are
Sarbodaya Nagar is a residential lane, not a hotel strip. You get the quiet of a neighbourhood, with the whole of Puri a short ride away.
Your host
Hosting since 2023
Host & owner
I ran my own business for most of my working life. The idea of hosting came to me on a holiday of my own — I stayed somewhere that felt like a transaction, and decided the house I had built in Puri could feel like the opposite.
I am not at the property every hour of the day, but a caretaker is, and I am always a phone call away. Ask me which gate of the temple to use, which auto driver not to pay in advance, and how to get to Konark without being overcharged. I have lived here my whole life. Use that.
Guest stories
Every word below is from a Google review, exactly as the guest wrote it. These are the phrases that come up again and again.
I have visited Puri before, but my hotel experience this time was truly wonderful. The hotel is very close to the railway station and also not far from the Jagannath Temple. Shanti Ranjan Kaku's care and hospitality towards his guests are truly praiseworthy. The food arrangements were excellent, and the room and bathroom were extremely clean and spotless. Above all, I never felt like I was staying in a hotel — it felt just like home. I travelled with my parents, and they also thoroughly enjoyed Kaku's warm hospitality and felt very comfortable throughout our stay. Kaku arranged all the transportation for us, including cars and toto rides, which made everything very convenient. Overall, my experience was absolutely amazing. I am truly overwhelmed by the warmth and hospitality we received. Whenever I visit Puri again, I will definitely stay there.

I just felt like "home" nothing less. I had a wonderful experience staying at Casa Blanka. The host Santi Ranjan sir were super friendly and made me feel at home. The room was clean, cozy, and had all the amenities I needed. The location was perfect with easy access to local attraction's and public transport. Thank you Jai Jagannath

One of the best option for homestay near railway station and family friendly. Host Mr. Ranjan Sir is very humble and also helped us to plan our trip with all possible options, god bless him and his family. Highly recommend, especially for families. Jai Jagannath

We had a nice stay in casa blanca, The rooms were clean and spacious. Also, all the famous places like temples and beaches are nearby within 5 km. You can cook food in the kitchen and have tea or coffee in the dining hall which is very spacious and can also enjoy watching tv while having your meal. Owner was very cooperative and helped us with all the required details. Thank you casa blanca for making our stay comfortable and memorable.

It was a rather pleasant experience staying at this place. The owner, Mr Mishra was very kind to take me around the city for a quick tour. He also suggested me good restaurants in the city that met my expectations. Would highly recommend this place!

I had the opportunity of staying at this lovely place. The place is clean, homely and near the Puri Railway Station. The rooms and washroom were also up to the mark. The Owner and his family were extremely accommodating and even offered to drop at the Railway station. They helped me plan my stay in the city and I loved their unique perspective on the town Puri. Would recommend for all travellers, especially solo and family. Do mention if you have any special requests while booking with them, they will surely try to accommodate. Homely atmosphere. The owner Mr. Mishra is very kind and attentive.

Book direct
No booking engine, no instant-confirm screen. Tell me your dates and how many of you there are, and you will get a reply from me — usually within the hour. A one-night advance confirms the room and keeps it yours.
Four rooms on the ground floor — Vanilla, Ivory, Snow and Pearl. They are the same room four times over, so whichever is free is the one you get.
Travelling as a large family? Take two, three or all four — they sit next to each other on the same floor.
The whole third floor. Two double beds, a kitchen that belongs to you alone, and a door that opens onto my rooftop garden.
If you are travelling with elderly parents, take two King Rooms downstairs instead. Moon Light is the best room in my house and the hardest to reach, and I would rather tell you that now than have you climb it with luggage at five in the morning.
Call or message me with your dates. I will tell you what is free and what it costs for those particular days. To hold the room, I ask for one night's rent in advance.
People used to call, ask me to keep a room, and never arrive. Meanwhile a family would be standing at my gate and I would have to turn them away for a guest who never came. The advance means I never have to make that choice again — and it means the room you were promised is genuinely waiting for you.
Plans change, and trains are late. Tell me as early as you can and I will move your dates rather than keep the money.
A proper kitchen with a gas stove, utensils, and a dining hall that seats a dozen. My guests use it freely — it is the thing people mention most in their reviews.
Many of my guests are here on pilgrimage, and the house keeps to that. Moon Light upstairs has a kitchen of its own.
An open terrace lined with my potted plants. Open all day, and the best place in the house at six in the morning and again at six in the evening.
I water those plants every day and I am quietly proud of them. Please enjoy the terrace, but leave the pots where they are.
There is a washing machine in the house. It costs ₹50 for a load — that covers the water, the power and the detergent, and nothing more.
Nobody has to ask me for hot water in this house. Turn it on and use it.
Free parking inside the gate, for guests only. There is room for a car and for several two-wheelers.
Wi-Fi reaches every room. Ask the caretaker for the password when you arrive — it is also written on a card by the stairs.
If you are here to work rather than to pray, the dining hall is the best spot — a big table, good light, and nobody in your way.
I do not run a restaurant. What I have is a kitchen you can use, and firm opinions about where to eat nearby.
Eat Mahaprasad at the temple rather than anywhere else. Ask me how it works before you go — it is not obvious the first time, and I can save you an hour.
I arrange transport for my guests. Not as a business — I simply know the drivers, and I know what a fair price is.
Ask me what it should cost. Travel agents near the temple quote visitors two or three times the local rate, and there is no reason for you to pay it.
This is a three-storey house with a staircase and no lift. I would rather tell you now than have you find out with your bags in your hands.
Book the King Rooms. They are on the ground floor and you can walk straight in from the gate. Do not book Moon Light for a group that includes anyone who finds stairs difficult — three flights, several times a day, around temple visits, is more than it sounds.
Call me before you book and I will tell you plainly whether this house suits your group.
I do not live at the property full time. A caretaker does, and he is the person you will see every day.
If something is not right, call me directly. I would far rather fix it while you are still here than read about it in a review afterwards.
